Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

The undergraduate dental training programme leading to BDS degree shall be of 4 years with 240 teaching days in each academic year and one year compulsory rotatory internship (Total 5 Years). During this period, the student shall be required to have engaged in full time study at a dental college recognized or approved by the Dental Council of India.

Second year:

General and Dental Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Dental Materials.

Preclinical Conservative Dentistry.

Pre Clinical prosthodontics and crown & Bridge.

The following Certificates Shall be submitted along with the application for admission.

(i)Birth Certificate/ SSLC Marklist / Proof of Date of Birth.

(ii)Higher Secondary Marklist / XII Marklist.

(iii)Transfer Certificate issued by the Institution last studied.

(iv)Caste certificate from the Competent authority obtained on or after 01.04.2015.

(v)Foreign students should hold / produce valid visa obtained from the concerned Indian Mission abroad.

(vi)NRI Passport and Bank Account Pass Book of the financial supporter.

(vii)Nativity Certificate of Financial Supporter.

(viii)Candidates are advised to take enough numbers of photocopies of the documents before submitting the original documents to this institution.


All admissions made are provisional and subjected to the approval of the Pondicherry Central University. The candidates may be called for counseling if necessary. Having been called for admission/counseling does not necessarily means acceptance of eligibility for admission.
Candidates who are provisionally selected for admission should themselves get medically examined by the Medical Board, Sri Venkateshwaraa Dental College,Ariyur, Puducherry and produce a Medical Fitness Certificate in Original at the time of admission.
The classes for I BDS Course shall commence from 1st week of August every year.


Discipline

(i)The Institution aims at maintaining the highest standard of discipline amongst the students. The students should abide by any general or special rules prescribed by the institution in regard to discipline and conduct from time to time.

(ii)Any act of disobedience or misconduct will be dealt with seriously by the Institute.

(iii)Every student shall carry the Identity Card issued by the Institute everyday.

(iv)All students should attend all the Lectures / Discussions / Clinics / Labs / Seminars etc. regularly and obtain minimum attendance as prescribed by the Pondicherry Central University (75%).

(v)Use of alcohol and intoxicating drugs inside the Institute/Hostel is strictly prohibited.

(vi)Students shall desist from agitations and demonstrations.

(vii)Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited inside the campus.
